Ceol na Mara Holiday Cottage

This is a peaceful, spacious holiday home in private, idyllic surroundings in Cromore – Isle of Lewis.

Welcome to Ceol na Mara (Gaelic for ‘music of the sea’). Surrounded by the sea, it is set  right on the spectacular rocky shoreline of Loch Erisort amid breathtaking scenery. Sleeping up to 8 people, it’s the perfect destination for large get-togethers of family or friends.

The South Lochs region of the Isle of Lewis is said to be a hidden jewel of the Hebrides, and only a few visitors to the Isle of Lewis have discovered its secrets. You’ll enjoy unspoilt wild hill country, countless freshwater lochs and burns teeming with wild brown trout, and rare wildlife, including otter, seal and porpoise, black throated divers on the hill lochs, and sea eagles and golden eagles circling in the skies above.

Guests at Ceol-na-Mara enjoy unbroken views across the water to the small islands dotted in the mouth of the loch towards the Minch. On clear days, you can see the dramatic skyline of the Sutherland mountains on the Scottish mainland. The house is accessible by boat as well as road.

Staying in this romantic setting offers escape into another world, the opportunity to experience life in a traditional crofting community eg lambing, peat cutting etc, and the chance to enjoy the rugged beauty of this unique and dramatic landscape.

Amazing landscapes to explore…

“A brilliant stay in a comfortable  “home from home”.  We especially enjoyed the superb views of Loch Erisort from the conservatory and on the sunny days enjoyed tea on the patio taking in the natural beauty of the area.”

“We have had a marvellous time in this lovely house – perfect for all of us, and the kids were in heaven. Nothing was too much trouble and we have felt completely at home.  As for location – well just look out of the window!”
